The characters are adorable when they do something nice and wonderful. In this, Max is the main character and she leads the way for the others. Her romance with Fang is entrancingly delightful. Even though this story is heroine oriented there is enough action and suspense. Angel is also awe-inspiring because she is clever and the smallest. Among the boys, Iggy is charismatic. He is blind but that does not stop him from doing the cooking or flying around.

He uses this to keep up with Erasers in combat. However these attributes are inferior to newer enhanced beings such as Dylan, Kate, Star, and Horsemen. Around the time that Max turned ten years old, Jeb rescued her along with Iggy, Fang, Nudge, the Gasman, and Angel. It's an American original manga that they hired a Korean to write. It is definitely MANGA and not GRAPHIC NOVEL, especially considering it was serialized first in Yen Magazine. However, it does read left to right. I feel like a little bit of the internal feelings/thinking is lost in this version over the original, which is interesting because many Japanese manga have quite a bit of internal thought. The emphasis on this version of Maximum Ride is definitely fast-paced action sequences, which it does well.Volume 6 was released in December 2012 and features Angel on the cover. It almost finished Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports but cuts off around the time Fang's blog readers are destroying Itex.

He has taken a laptop from Itex which he can use to update his blog. We enter the scene when the things are a little out of hand. It details the first half of The Angel Experiment. At the end, there are a few words from NaRae Lee as well as a preview of MAX.
